The website "La famille Li" is the website of the family association of the Lépissier family, the Association Émile-Jean Lépissier.
The Association Émile-Jean Lépissier was created on April 6, 2015. The publication took place in the " Journal Officiel" of the French Republic n°20 of the 147th year, on Saturday May 16, 2015 (announcement n° 1319, page 2390).
Article 2 of the statutes gives the purpose of the Association :
The purpose of this Association is to make known, both to the descendants and to the public, the life, actions and works of :
- Émile-Jean Lépissier (1826-1874), astronomer at Paris Observatory, then professor of French at the Tong Wen Guan in Peking and of astronomy at the Kaisei Gakko School in Tokyo,
- Émile-Laurent Lépissier (1850-1923), Commissioner of the Chinese Imperial Customs
- Juliette-Lise Lépissier, born on, sister of Émile-Laurent, wife of Émile Vanderlieb,
- Charles Lépissier (1882-1975), Consul General in China - Minister Plenipotentiary,
- Paul Lépissier (1884-1954), Consul General in the Middle East, Minister Plenipotentiary, Ambassador to Thailand,
- Émile Lépissier (1900-1969), an agricultural engineer by training, inspector at the Crédit Foncier de France,
hereinafter referred to as the 'Aïeux Lépissier',["Lépissier forefathers"], in particular by researching and exploring their writtings, their photographic and cinematographic documents and various memorablia, and to maintain their memory within the members of the Association, museums, universities or any other cultural organization, French or foreign.
The Association also aims to make known to the descendnts (and even to the public), the life, actions and works of other descendants of Émile-Jean Lépissier, or allied families, including but not limited to those who have had an international life, thus underlining the family's openness to the world, to others and to different cultures, an openness shared by a large part of the family.
The Association may also publish documents, catalogs, directories, books or any other support, organize family reunion, cousinages, and public or private events, paid or free, in France or abroad, with the above mentioned aim.
The Association will also be responsible for the management of the website 'La famille Li' (or any other name that may be given later) which traces the lives of the 'Aïeux Lépissier' ["Lépissier forefathers"].
